Χωρίς ιδιαίτερες εκπλήξεις κύλησε η χθεσινή βραδιά των βραβείων Oscar, στην 87η απονομή τους στο Dolby Theatre, με οικοδεσπότη τον Neil Patrick Harris που κατά γενική ομολογία ήταν εξαιρετικός. Όπως πάντα, η τελετή είχε τα μικροαπτόοπτά της που δεν ήταν όμως αρκετά για να προκαλέσουν αναστάτωση, πολλές στιγμές γέλιου και ακόμα περισσότερες στιγμές συγκίνησης. Το "Birman" αναδείχτηκε ως ο μεγάλος νικητής, κερδίζοντας στις βασικές κατηγορίες, τα χρυσά αγαλματάκια ερμηνειών να πηγαίνουν στα αναμενόμενα πρόσωπα, όπως και είχαμε προβλέψει, ενώ ξεχώρισε και το "The Grand Budapest Hotel" καθώς και ο ελληνικής καταγωγής συνθέτης Alexandre Desplat.
